Care

The Pastoral Care Team exists to proclaim the love and compassion of Jesus Christ by addressing the emotional, social, and spiritual needs of the Cathedral family and wider community.

Please explore the pages within this section of our site to learn more about each area of service and how you can receive support or get involved.

As a Cathedral family, we care for each other’s minds, bodies, hearts and souls through teams of lay leaders and clergy who are trained to offer care. The following Parish ministries outline St. Paul's pastoral care:

  • Pastoral Care Team - A group of trained lay people who provide support, prayer and presence to the home-bound, to those with long-term needs, and who make urgent visitations to people in hospitals;
  • Lay Eucharistic Visitors - Certified by the Diocese, these lay people deliver Communion from the reserve sacrament to the home-bound, those with long-term needs and to people in hospitals;
  • Flower Deliveries - Lay people who prepare the previous week's altar flowers for delivery to the ill, the home-bound, or someone who simply could use a day brightener;
  • Prayer Shawl Ministry- Open to all yarn heads. Make prayer shawls, lap blankets, and baby blankets filled with prayer that will be blessed and delivered to those in need;
  • Card Writing Ministry- For those who love to send a little snail mail note of love, prayer, and care to those in need; and
  • Clergy - St. Paul's clergy are available for personal meetings as well as visitations.

Contact the church office at 235-3436 for more information.

Prayer Requests

Lay Eucharistic Visitors

Time : 30 minutes to 1 hour per month

Lay Eucharistic Visitors (LEVs) are licensed by the Diocese of Oklahoma to distribute previously blessed elements of Holy Communion to persons unable to attend regular worship services. LEVs represent the church to the homebound and serve as a reminder that they are an integral part of the Body of Christ. This provides a sense of connection …

Flower Deliveries

Time: 30 minutes to 2 hours a month

A dedicated team that arranges and delivers Sunday's altar flowers to people who could use a little beauty in their life. Pick up an arrangement early in the week and make a quick delivery of joy!

Prayer Shawl Ministry

The Prayer Shawl Guild is a group of people who meet monthly to knit or crochet shawls that are blessed and given to someone with an illness or someone going through a difficult time on their faith journey. For centuries, shawls have been a universal symbol of an inclusive, unconditionally loving God. For additional information contact Sally Alworth.
