St. Paul’s Summer Organ Recital Series

This summer, St. Paul’s Episcopal Cathedral warmly invites the community to experience the beauty, history, and wonder of the organ through a special three-part Summer Organ Recital Series led by Joseph Ripka, Organist, Canon Precentor & Director of Music.These engaging and interactive mini-concerts will take place on select Sundays at 10:10 a.m. All recitals will be held in the Cathedral unless otherwise noted. All are welcome.

Sunday, June 14 at 10:10 a.m.

“The King of Instruments”
An introduction to the organ and its stops as told through poetry by Euguen Haun. Set to music by William Albright. Everyone will be invited to the organ loft after the performance for a 'hands on' demonstration.

 
Sunday, July 12 at 10:10 a.m.
“Weddings, Baptisms, Funerals”
Learn about and hear organ music commonly associated with these liturgies including the famous “Taco Bell Canon.”

 
Sunday, August 9 at 10:10 a.m.
“Around the World in 15 minutes”
This concert will be presented on the digital Hauptwerk Organ in the choir room. Travel virtually to Germany, Italy, France, and England in about 15 minutes. Hear historic sounds and learn about historic organs from these countries.
