Living a Faithful Life: Worship
This week, we continue our Living a Faithful Life practice of Worship, paying particular attention to the ways liturgy forms us through what we hear, say, sing, and do together.
This week’s card invites you to notice worship with your whole self. Begin before you even arrive by turning off the noise on your way to the Cathedral and allowing the journey to become a quiet transition into God’s presence. Grow by noticing how your body participates—standing, sitting, kneeling, exchanging the Peace, or receiving Communion—and allowing that action to become prayer.
To deepen the practice, read the Collect of the Day before worship and carry one word or phrase with you through the liturgy. Then rest by choosing a phrase from worship to carry into the week ahead.
Our Cathedral-Wide Practice continues: try a worship service you do not normally attend. This week, notice how the words, movement, prayer, and repeated patterns of our worship shape your attention.
Choose one practice—or try several. The invitation is simply to pay attention to how the familiar rhythms of worship are forming us, week by week, into a faithful life.
