October 18 — Caring for Ourselves and One Another

This week’s Living a Faithful Life card reminds us that caring for what God has entrusted to us includes our own bodies and the well-being of those around us.

As we gather for St. Paul’s 23rd Annual Health Fair, this week’s practices invite us to consider care in tangible ways. Perhaps it means taking a health-related step you have been postponing. Perhaps it is praying for someone who is sick, healing, or caregiving. Or perhaps it is offering a meal, an errand, transportation, or simply an hour of respite to someone carrying a burden.

Christian care asks us both to receive our own lives as gifts and to help bear one another’s burdens. Take this week’s card with you, choose a practice, and consider one concrete way you can tend what—and whom—God has entrusted to your care.
