Dean's Message for June 26, 2025

Beloveds,
We are well into the season of Pentecost, or "ordinary time". You may have noticed that this week we will be using "Proper 8.” In this season, the propers are those portions of the service that change week to week; namely, the collect and the readings. If you really dive into the weeds of the ‘lectionary garden’, you will also see that each week has two tracks, and we traditionally use Track 2, in which the readings are grouped thematically. Being an Episcopalian is complicated! Full readings HERE.
Please read on for information about services and other events, and as we continue this week with our listening sessions, I look forward to hearing your concerns, questions and suggestions for our common future, whether in a group on Sunday morning or one-on-one at your convenience.
"The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. . . If we live by the Spirit, let us also be guided by the Spirit" (Galatians 5: 22, 25).
The Very Reverend Katie Churchwell, 15th Dean, St. Paul's Episcopal Cathedral
