Dean's Message for June 18, 2026

Beloveds,
Greetings from Mexico!
A few weeks ago, I wrote about one of summer's greatest gifts: the invitation to slow down. As I reflect on that theme again this week, I find myself increasingly convinced that rest is not simply the absence of activity—it is the space in which we remember what matters most.
Even as summer brings vacations, camps, family gatherings, and a different rhythm of life, I hope you are finding moments to pause, reconnect, and be renewed. Rest allows us to pay attention to God's presence, to deepen our relationships, and to rediscover the joy of belonging to one another.
At St. Paul's, that spirit of connection continues throughout the season. This Sunday, June 21, I encourage you to join us for God's Sign Language, an engaging all-ages formation experience that invites us to see familiar sacred spaces with fresh eyes. Later this month, our Beloved Circle will gather for dinner and conversation as we continue exploring what belonging means within our Cathedral community. We also look forward to welcoming those interested in learning more about the Legacy Society and the lasting impact of planned giving on the future of St. Paul's.
As you enjoy these summer days, I invite you to consider where God may be calling you to deepen your connection—with this community, with your neighbors, and with Christ. Sometimes the most meaningful growth happens not when we hurry, but when we make space to listen.
Collect for Sunday, June 21
O Lord, make us have perpetual love and reverence for your holy Name, for you never fail to help and govern those whom you have set upon the sure foundation of your loving-kindness; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
Faithfully,
The Very Reverend Katie Churchwell +
