Greetings from the UK!
As you read this, our Choristers, chaperones, and I are concluding our final day in Ripon and preparing to travel to Liverpool for the last portion of our journey. Your prayers, encouragement, and good wishes have truly sustained us as we’ve traveled, sung, and worshipped across the UK.
It has been a profound gift to lead services in such historic and holy places, and your presence has been felt in every note of music and moment of prayer. Thank you for holding us so close from afar.
I ask that you continue to keep our group in your prayers in the coming days, especially as we begin the journey home on Monday. You can follow along with highlights from our travels and photos on the cathedral’s social media.
And as we go, I share this prayer for travelers from the Book of Common Prayer (p. 831), which we carry with us:
O God, our heavenly Father, whose glory fills the whole creation, and whose presence we find wherever we go: Preserve those who travel; surround them with your loving care; protect them from every danger and bring them in safety to their journey’s end; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
The Very Reverend Katie Churchwell, 15th Dean, St. Paul's Episcopal Cathedral, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
