Dean's Message for January 8, 2026

I grew up in Arizona, where out in the desert you could imagine three wise people seeing a far-off star and deciding to follow it in the hope of salvation. The three represent us all, who are daily faced with a decision to believe, to follow, to live a life of faith.
Some days it is so clear that I can literally see the star and know the path. Other days it is murky, or cloudy, or dark. But the star is always there, even if we can't see it.
As we go through this season of Epiphany, my prayer for you is that your journey be made easier, your burden be made bearable, your faith be a light to guide you. That is the promise of the star, and I pray that the community of St. Paul's will be with you on your way.
Whether through attendance at a worship service or formation opportunity, at a fellowship event or outreach at our day shelter, this community is with you and for you always.
"O God, by the leading of a star you manifested your only Son to the peoples of the earth: Lead us, who know you now by faith, to your presence, where we may see your glory face to face; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever" (Collect of the Day for Epiphany).
