Dean's Message for January 22, 2025

Generally, when one is in a "class of (year)", we think of high school or college. At St. Paul's, we have classes within our vestry. Today I would like to thank the "Class of 2023": Genie Bryant, Rob Duran, Bill Parker, and Liz Salomone. Each person who serves on vestry commits to service that extends far beyond the monthly vestry meetings, and applies his or her own experience and strength to the tasks at hand. Whether reviewing contracts, evaluating bids for goods or services, poring through financial data and budgets, assessing our buildings and grounds, or a myriad of other behind-the-scenes situations, the quality of worship and the stewardship of our resources are in the hands of these wonderful people.
At our Annual Meeting, we will thank the outgoing Class of 2023 and welcome the Class of 2026. I look forward to continuing to work with Genie, Rob, Bill, and Liz as they transition their service to our community to new avenues, and I look forward to working with the Class of 2026 as they begin a three-year term of service. Please join me in thanking these people who give so much of their time and resources for the benefit of us all and to the glory of God.
"By all your saints still striving, for all your saints at rest, your holy Name, O Jesus, for evermore be blessed" (Hymnal 232).
The Very Reverend Katie Churchwell, 15th Dean, St. Paul's Episcopal Cathedral, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
