Dean's Message for April 30, 2026

Beloveds,

We now find ourselves in the Fifth Sunday of Easter, still living in the joy and promise of Resurrection. Easter is not only a day we celebrate—it is a season in which we are invited to notice how Christ continues to bring new life among us, often in quiet and unexpected ways.

There is much happening in the life of St. Paul’s Episcopal Cathedral in these days. We continue to gather for worship, to learn together, to serve our neighbors, to share fellowship, and to grow in faith as a community. Each conversation, each act of kindness, each prayer offered, and each moment of connection becomes part of the Easter story we are still living together.

This Sunday, I especially invite you to join us during the 10:10 a.m. formation hour. Whether you come with questions, curiosity, a desire to grow, or simply a hope to connect more deeply, there is a place for you here. Formation is one of the ways we remain open to the transforming work of the risen Christ in our lives.

In a world that often urges us to move quickly and carry much, the Church offers another invitation: to gather, to listen, to be renewed, and to walk together in the way of love. Wherever you find yourself this Eastertide—joyful, weary, searching, or full of hope—you are welcome here.
I look forward to seeing you this Sunday as we continue on the Easter road together.

Almighty God, whom truly to know is everlasting life: Grant us so perfectly to know your Son Jesus Christ to be the way, the truth, and the life, that we may steadfastly follow his steps in the way that leads to eternal life; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

The Very Reverend Katie Churchwell, 15th Dean, St. Paul's Episcopal Cathedral, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
