Dean's Message September 3, 2026

Beloveds,

As we enter Labor Day weekend, I’ll be at St. Crispin’s celebrating its 60th anniversary—a joyful milestone in the life of our diocese. I hope you’ll still be here at St. Paul’s on Sunday, gathering around Word and Sacrament as our Cathedral family.

And then, we are just one week away! Sunday, September 13 is Rally Day and our Ministry Fair, when we officially begin a new program year at St. Paul’s. I hope you’ve seen my email introducing this year’s theme, Living a Faithful Life: Ancient Practices. Everyday Discipleship., and be on the lookout for a postcard arriving in your mailbox as well.

There is so much to anticipate. Beginning September 13, Choral Evensong with Holy Eucharist will be offered every Sunday at 4 p.m. I hope you’ll make this beautiful service part of the rhythm of your life. Then, on September 20, formation for all ages returns, with opportunities to learn, ask questions, deepen relationships, and grow in faith together.

You’ll also notice something new in worship beginning September 13. As you enter the Cathedral, you’ll be invited to take small tokens representing our time, talent, and treasure and place them in the offering plate as it passes. They are a tangible reminder that what we offer to God extends far beyond our financial gifts—we bring our whole lives to the altar.

There is much in store for us this year, but the invitation at the heart of it is beautifully simple: to practice, together, what it means to live a faithful life. I cannot wait to begin this new season with you.

Grace and peace,

The Very Reverend Katie Churchwell +
