Beloveds,

Summer has a way of inviting us to slow down. The pace may shift, vacations come and go, and routines look a little different—but the invitation of the Church remains the same: to continue growing in faith together.

One of my favorite things about these summer months at St. Paul's is seeing our community discover new ways to learn, serve, and connect. Whether you're joining us for worship, attending summer formation, sharing your favorite hymn story, singing in the Summer Choir, or simply lingering over coffee after the service, each moment strengthens the bonds that make us a cathedral family.

This Sunday, I hope you'll join us at 10:10 a.m. in the cathedral for Part II of our Summer Organ Recital Series during Formation for All Ages.

As we prepare for the Seventh Sunday after Pentecost, the Collect offers a timely prayer for all of us:

O Lord, mercifully receive the prayers of your people who call upon you, and grant that they may know and understand what things they ought to do, and also may have grace and power faithfully to accomplish them; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

May that prayer guide us this week. May God grant us wisdom to discern what is ours to do, courage to do it faithfully, and hearts always ready to extend Christ's love to our neighbors.

I look forward to seeing you soon!
Faithfully,

The Very Reverend Katie Churchwell +
15th Dean, St. Paul’s Episcopal Cathedral
