Beloveds,

Last week, on Tuesday, November 11, I emailed and shared an official announcement regarding St. Paul’s opening our Cold Weather Shelter for the 2025–2026 year. As we now take steps toward welcoming guests beginning December 15, I would love to invite you to a community-wide round table this Sunday, November 23, at 12:30 p.m. in Dean Willey Hall.

This will be a simple, honest time for us to come together—to hear updates, to ask questions, to share concerns or hopes, and to listen deeply to one another.

City Care will again be operating the shelter, and our role this year focuses on providing hospitality during weekday lunch shifts. Your presence, your voice, and your partnership matter as we step into another season of offering warmth, dignity, and safety to our neighbors.

If you have not yet signed up to help with a lunch shift, we truly need volunteers to prepare, serve, and tidy up Monday–Friday. It is a meaningful and very manageable way to make a difference. You can sign up by clicking HERE.

Please join us this Sunday. If you are unable to attend in person and have questions or concerns, I would be grateful to hear from you by email or phone at the contact information below.

I am deeply thankful for this community’s compassion, courage, and faithful commitment to the work God is asking of us.

With hope,

The Very Rev. Dean Katie Churchwell+
15th Dean, St. Paul's Episcopal Cathedral
