Advent marks a new liturgical year for the church. The church gets a jump start on everyone else in getting a reset; a fresh start; a new year, new you.

To mark Advent this year we are inviting everyone- yes everyone!- to come down to St. Paul's for a New Year Celebration!

From 10am-Noon on Sunday November 29th (the first Sunday of Advent) we will have multiple opportunities for people to engage with the Cathedral, with the community, and with God, safely from your car.

  1. Community Outreach
    1. We are supporting three of our community partners
      1. The Watonga Whirlwind Mission and the YWCA Children
        1. Bring a toy or gift for a child age birth to 18
        2. Each gift should be $10-$15 and unwrapped
        3. Signup here
      2. Hope for the Future and Palomar Justice Center
        1. We are collecting food to make weekend food bags for food insecure children and families
        2. Shopping List is found here
      3. YWCA My Sister's Closet
        1. Winter Clothing Items for all genders and ages, birth to adult
        2. Items may be new or gently worn
    2. All items may be dropped off by driving by and handing off the item from the safety of your car.
    3. We have great need, for those who are comfortable, to help gather the dropped off items, sort them, and pack the food bags. This is a particularly good outreach project for families with children and youth. Signup here to pack bags and sort donated items
  2. The Advent Event
    1. All Advent wreaths and devotionals will be for pick up only
    2. There are Advent devotionals for all ages (Adult, children and families, and youth) that are available to pick up or download.
    3. Children and Youth will also be getting their Christmas Pageant Costumes, contact Children and Family Minister Ashley Ozan to sign up for the pageant.
    4. Register for your Advent Wreath and devotionals here
  3. Stewardship In-Gathering
    1. You are invited to bring your pledge card to the Cathedral (if you haven't already) and drop it off so that it can be blessed during the 9 AM service on 12/6.
    2. Pledging is a promise between you and God, and we at St. Paul's are careful stewards of the fruits of this promise.
    3. Thank you in advance for supporting the mission and ministry of St. Paul's
    4. Get a pledge card by emailing Jack Wise or pledge now

All are welcome! Please wear a mask as you drive-by to drop off and pick up your items. Sign up and participate in any and everything- advent wreaths are not just for kids! If you are signing up to socially distant sort and bag the donated items, masks and frequent hand sanitizing is required.

The drive by and drop off/pick up route for outreach items, your stewardship card, and advent wreath kits and devotionals is to you enter 7th Street from Broadway and exit onto Robinson.
