Blessed Day – Birthday of Steve Balentine

We thank Jerry & Margie Balentine for sharing this Blessed Day in Thanksgiving for the Birthday of our son Steve Balentine.

 
Fourth of July Picnic

The fun begins at 6 pm in the East Garden and includes:

  • Live music
  • Hamburgers, hotdogs, beans, potato salad, and chips
  • Tea, lemonade, and water
  • Face painting for the children

A $5 donation and a non-perishable food item for St. George’s Guild are suggested. (Children 6 and under are free.)

Please bring your favorite homemade ice cream to share and blankets, lawn chairs, bug spray, friends and neighbors. The evening will conclude around 8 PM with a short service of songs and prayer in the East Garden. Be aware the fireworks are no longer visible from the Cathedral.

Dean Back will lead a presentation on the history, structure, and expectations of the General Convention of the Episcopal Church meeting in Anaheim, CA this week.

Go to the General Convention page at the Episcopal Church website for more information, including an introductory video. We expect this page to have several updates once General Convention has begun.

CPR Class Sign-up

Wednesday, July 15, 5:30–8:00 pm, Undercroft

There will be a CPR/AED class on Wed. July 15, 2009, from 5:30–8:00 pm in the Undercroft. The cost is $10.00. If there are not enough people signed up to make a class by July 13, we will reschedule for a later date.

Take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to be proactive in your health, and possibly the health of a loved one.
